Level 2 Manufacturing Technician

Location: Dublin

The Level 2 Manufacturing Technician plays a key role in supporting production operations by operating and maintaining manufacturing equipment, performing process checks, resolving minor equipment and process issues, and ensuring product quality and safety standards are met. This role requires hands-on technical ability, strong problem-solving skills, and experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operate automated and semi-automated production equipment according to SOPs and work instructions.
  • Perform first-level troubleshooting and recovery on equipment and process issues.
  • Conduct routine equipment checks, calibrations, and basic preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Monitor process performance and product quality using SPC charts and in-line inspection tools.
  • Perform product assembly, testing, and measurement as required.
  • Accurately maintain production logs, batch records, and documentation.
  • Work closely with engineering and maintenance teams to escalate technical issues.
  • Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Follow 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.
  • Comply with all EHS and cleanroom protocols.
  • Provide training/mentorship to Level 1 technicians and new hires.
  • Support shift handover communication and production targets.

Working Conditions

  • Cleanroom or controlled manufacturing environment (PPE required)
  • Shift-based role (days/nights/weekends depending on site)
  • Standing/working at equipment for extended periods
  • Fast-paced environment with tight deadlines


Requirements

Essential

  • 2–4 years of experience in manufacturing, production, or equipment operation.
  • Strong mechanical or electrical aptitude.
  • Ability to read technical documentation and follow SOPs precisely.
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality focus.
  • Experience working to production targets in a shift environment.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in semiconductor, electronics, medical device, automotive or pharma manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with SPC data, yield metrics, or MES systems.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, or Six Sigma principles.
  • Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer literacy (MS Office, production reporting systems).

Education

  • Technical Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic, Process Technology, Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline.
  • Apprenticeship or equivalent hands-on vocational training also considered
